The Vintage Automobile Museum Of New Jersey presented a beautiful 1966 Mustang Coupe as the 2007 raffle car fundraiser. A gentleman stopped to look at the car and said, “That’s my mother’s car!” His name is Rick Grant from Barnegat. He further explained that his mother, Myrtle Grant, bought the in 1966 from Lakehurst Motors in Ocean County. That dealership since moved to Toms River and is Downs Ford on Rt. 37. Mr. Grant said he received the car from his mother in 1992, kept it garaged and little used until 2004. He sold the car to Phillip Squeo, Lanoka Harbor, Lacey Twp.  Mr. Squeo had the car restored, inside and out. He sold the beautiful Mustang to VAMNJ on 4/20/06 to be used as a primary fundraiser for the Museum Building Campaign. Mr. Grant said, “My mother loved that car and would be so pleased to know it was helping build the Vintage Auto Museum”.

We had a lot of help selling tickets. A big thank you goes to Everett Ross, Nick Rabi, Doug Graham, Walter Piatkowski, Vince Tieto, Jean Babilya, Gary Stabile, Ann Stabile, John Mahoney, Val Mahoney, Ralph Simon, Maryann Simon, Tim O’Rourke, Dave DiEugenio, Ray Schwartz, Kevin Donahue and Andy Kmosko. On Saturday morning our Checker Cab hit the auction block. It looked good under the bright lights as the bidding started. Ele Chesney announced the proceeds of the sale were for the VAMNJ and the auctioneer said SOLD! It was exciting. Thank you Ele.

Russ Pattereson, PLS,  Surveyer and Engineer, has completed the Museum plot plan and ASR Architecture Pa; Mr. Allen Robinson, AIA, Architect, has started the building plan.  Mr. Michael Jacobus and Ms. Danielle Kokes, representing our new neighbors, Cherry Hill Associates, in Manchester, met with our building committee to discuss mutual benefits for our building plans. The Building Committee Chair-man, Gary Stabile, said he is pleased with the progress and wants everybody to know how much we appreciate the professional advice and guidance of Russ and Allen and everyone working with the Building Committee.  Thank you for believing in our project.

President John Mahoney, VP Gary Stabile, VP Doug Graham, Treasurer Charles Donelan, Secretary Ann Stabile and past president Dave DiEugenio.  We have eight committees with appointed chairpersons and we are good to go for 2007.  We hope you will join us on this exciting adventure to change a dream into a reality.

Community leaders have been helpful.  Mayor Michael Fressola of Manchester Twp. greeted us at the Manchester Municipal Building and gave us information, advice and encouragement.  Ms. Barbara Steele, Director of OC Tourism, promoted our effort in the Ocean County Tourism Newsletter.  Terrance Farley, Esq., Harvey York, Esq. And Louis Gallipoli, II, CPA have helped us with expert advice.  Thank you for your efforts on our behalf. We have a very good team, bound for success.
